4 Way Competition

A decent showing of members travelled down to the 4 way competition hosted in the very nice Community Hall in Galashiels. The judge, Graeme Webb, was introduced and started taking us through the prints. Judging was very exacting and Graeme had clearly studied each photo very carefully picking up on very small flaws such as dust spots. He explained his marks very well and the feedback was accurate and in good spirit. We had a decent prints section and finished off in third place, just four points behind the leaders at half-time. The digital images started well for us with an 18 for a cracking image entitled Birth, Life and Death which actually put us in second place just 3 points off the lead. Alas our joy was short lived as that was as good as it got for us and our challenge petered out from that point. We ended up just outside the medals in fourth place. The winners were our hosts Gala CC with a total of 170, Runners up were Beeslack on 166, Musselburgh in third with 165 and we brought up the rear on 161.
