A busy week for the club began on Tuesday with a highly successful model night organised by Willie Pollard and supported by his two wonderful models Jamie and Morven. Thanks to all three for providing the members with an opportunity to practise their studio work. Newer members to the club have already commented on how insightful this was for them and they were grateful for the help given by more experienced club members. There will be more opportunities to work with models later in the season and hopefully this first evening will encourage some members to make use of our facilities and practise working in a studio environment.
On Wednesday we had our annual inter-club competition against Mid Calder and the quality of both prints and digital images made it a hard fought competition with the end result being that the scores were equal so a draw it is for this year. Well done to all that entered.
Finally on Thursday evening we travelled to North Berwick to compete in the ‘Match an Image’ competition. We must thank North Berwick Camera Club for their very kind hospitality and a most enjoyable evening was had by all. Sadly when the scores were counted we were beaten on the evening but this did not detract from the fun, competitive tone of the evening and so congratulations go to them for their win. Roll in next year!
Next Tuesday 14th we have Charles Everitt given us a presentation on the East Lothian Coastline. Charles has visited the club before and was so popular that we felt we needed to invite him along again to share with the club his photos, locations and information on the east coast coastline. We also have the hand in for the Winter Competition on this evening.
